Accessibility Statement

Learn how this website is designed to be accessible, inclusive, and usable for everyone, following WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

Why Accessible Websites Matter

Accessibility isn’t an afterthought for me. The internet should be accessible to everyone, and accessibility matters.

Commitment to Accessibility

Hi, I’m Seb. I built this website.

Accessibility is a core part of how I design and build websites. From the start, I follow established best practices to ensure this site is usable, inclusive, and aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Everyone should be able to access and use the web, regardless of device, ability, or circumstance.

What This Means in Practice

This website is designed so you can:

  • Use the site on older computers or slower internet connections
  • Zoom text up to 300% without content breaking or overflowing
  • Navigate the entire site using only a keyboard
  • Use speech recognition software to move through the site
  • Access content with screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver
  • Read text with sufficient color contrast and appropriate font sizing
  • Use core site functionality with ad blockers enabled

WCAG 2.1 Compliance

Ongoing accessibility efforts are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. These standards help ensure content is accessible to users with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities, while improving usability for all users.

Robust and Resilient Design

This website is built to degrade gracefully. It always tried to continue to function if JavaScript is disabled, CSS fails to load, or older technology is used. I intentionally avoid intrusive pop-ups, flashing animations, or other elements that may cause distraction or harm.

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. As standards and technologies evolve, I aim to continuously improve and maintain accessibility across this site.
